A Trip to the Island South
Aberdeen was originally a traditional fishing village, with a large number of fishing boats, sampans and yachts parked in the typhoon shelter. Tourists will be led by tour guides to visit Ap Lei Chau Shui Yuet Kung and Ap Lei Chau Hung Shing Temple to learn about the development history of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. Then they will take a chartered boat to roam around Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter and go to Sok Kwu Wan on Lamma Island. Enjoy a seafood feast at [Lamma Rainbow Seafood Restaurant] under the view of Fishing Village.
Shui Yuet Kung Temple
The year the Shui Yuet Kung was built is unknown. However, according to the elders’ recollections, it has a history of more than a hundred years. There is still a plaque of “Shui Yuet Kung” hanging in the temple in the 17th year of Guangxu’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1891). And the reconstruction of the inscription shows that the temple existed as early as 1891.
The "Dragon Tau"
The "Dragon Tau" is a resting place for dragon boats. Dragon boats of all sizes are moored in neat rows. Traditional wooden dragon boats from the ancient dragon boat clubs in Aberdeen and Stanley are stored here. From welcoming the arrival of the dragon boat to the aging of the dragon boat and leaving the world, the traditional rituals contain the connection between gods and humans, and there is actually a lot to explore.
